How to Link Aadhaar card to PAN Online

Few days back as per a Supreme Court judgement passed on 9th June 2017,  It is mandatory to link Aadhaar to PAN and also   mention the same in your tax returns. Who has no aadhaar they must be apply for aadhaar. For the convenience of the taxpayer the Income Tax Department has made it easy to link their Aadhaar with PAN through online. This facility can be used by anyone who wants to link their Aadhaar with PAN. For that taxpayer should follow just few steps process in the e-filing official website. 

Before filling details just check follow points:

1). Please ensure that the date of birth and gender in PAN and Aadhaar are exactly same.

2). If Date of Birth and Gender is fully matched and name as per Aadhaar is not exactly matched then the user has to additionally provide Aadhaar OTP to proceed with partial name match.

This is the process to link Aadhaar with PAN:

a) Click the portal https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/

b) Register on it if you not already done. Use your PAN number will  be your user id.

c) Enter the User Id, password and your date of birth for login.

d) One small popup window appears and prompting you to link your PAN with Aadhar. sometimes it not show ,then go to menu bar and click ‘Profile Settings’ and click on ‘Link Aadhar’ option.

e) Details of name, DOB and gender will already be mentioned as per the PAN details.

f) Now you just verify the PAN details on screen showing with the ones mentioned on your Aadhar.Both details should not mismatched.

g) If the details are matched, then type your Aadhar number and click the “link now” button.

h) Now you will get one pop-up message, that your Aadhar has been successfully linked to your PAN number 

 

This is the process to link your PAN card number to your Adhar number.
